Hocking Hills State Park is full of beautiful scenery and hiking trails that it is not hard to spend your entire visit exploring the park’s features. In addition to the park’s splendor is a calendar full of fun and unique events that occur throughout the near at nearby communities. This article is just a sample of all the various events that happen in, and around, Hocking Hills State Park. The Maple Tapping Festival

March 13th, 2021 – 8AM until Noon at Charles Ally Nature Park

The annual Maple Tapping Festival is scheduled for Saturday, March 13th. Experience the annual maple tree taping where educators explain the tree taping process in detail. A $5 pancake breakfast, complete with pure maple syrup will be available until 11AM. Be sure to check out the George Hutchins Covered Bridge while at the park.

Wake Up Downtown

April 29th – May 2nd in Downtown Logan, Ohio

Wake Up Downtown is an event that brings the Airstream camper community to the streets of Logan, Ohio. The event features 101 Airstream campers that will line the streets of downtown Logan with more campers parking at the nearby campgrounds. The event is not limited to those with campers as all are welcome to walk the streets and checkout the various Airstreams. Some owners will even offer tours of their camper (look for Welcome Aboard signs). This event includes lots of live music, restaurants, Airstream factory experts, company tours and more. You’ll discover an authentic moonshine distillery, a brewery, and the scenic splendor of the Hocking Hills!

Washboard Music Festival

Fathers Day Weekend in Logan, Ohio

Described as ‘Ohio’s Most Unusual Festival’, the Washboard Music Festival takes place in Logan, Ohio each year on Father’s Day weekend. Fun Fact – Logan, Ohio is home to the last remaining Washboard factory. The festival features live music with the washboard incorporated as a percussion instrument. Other attractions include food vendors, tractor show, parade, arts & crafts, and tours of the last remaining washboard factory.

Tecumseh!

Showing June through September at Sugarloaf Mountain Amphitheater

Tecumseh! is a professionally produced drama performance that focuses on the legendary Shawnee leader who struggles to protect his sacred homeland in Ohio during the late-1700s. In addition to being held at the beautiful outdoor amphitheater, performances of Tecumseh! includes a heard of horses galloping around and live military canons in action during the intense battle scenes. Tickets cost between $20 to $40-each.

Hippie Fest

August 7th-8th East of Logan, Ohio

Hippie Fest is a traveling family-ran festival that tours through the eastern states from May through October. One of the stops is Hocking Hills, Ohio. The event is billed as “a grassroots festival where free-spirited people from across the country gather to celebrate peace, love, and all things groovy!” The event features live music, bohemian shopping, vintage hippie car show, interactive drum circle, DIY tie-dye, giant bubble garden, cirque performers, kids activities, delicious food, and so much more. All ages welcome. Kids 10 and under free.

Circleville Pumpkin Show

October 20th – 23rd in Circleville, Ohio

If pumpkin shows are your thing, you will love the Circleville Pumpkin Show. This event is three days packed full of events and live music. The event hosts traditional events such as the largest pumpkin contest and the Miss Pumpkin show in addition to nonstop live music, fashion shows, auctions and parades.
