Mill Creek MetroParks, the second largest metroparks in the United States, is located in the middle of Youngstown, Ohio. The south end of the park starts south of Youngstown in the suburb of Boardman and follows the Mill Creek through the South and West Side of Youngstown until Mill Creek meets the Mahoning River near downtown Youngstown. The Boardman suburb offers countless dining and shopping options and the newly revitalized downtown area is peppered with excellent restaurant and nightlife options.

Located in the heart of revitalized downtown Youngstown, Ryes Craft Beer & Whiskey bar offers up a wide array of beers, wine and whiskey options. Ryes is not a brewery, but they carry over 110 different types of craft beer including most of the local offerings. Since Ryes is located in the downtown area, you will have plenty of food options nearby.
Whistle & Keg

Another bar located in downtown Youngstown, Whistle & Keg offers up a unique experience where customers first open a tab upon arrival to receive an electronic wristband. Customers then use this wristband at any of the self service taps as drinks are charged by the ounce. Pour as much, or as little as you want and the wristband will keep track of the amount. Whistle & Keg offers up live music and entertainment most weekends.
The Casual Pint

The Casual Pint offers a full menu of food options including appetizer plates, wraps and flatbreads. With what started as a small wine bottle store, Vintage Estate Wine and Beer has grown over the years to become a beer lovers haven. VE carries over 30 different craft beers on tap, and if you can’t find anything you want on tap they have around 1300 different craft beers in stock to pick from. Bonus: Birdfish Brewing Company

Located 12 miles south of Mill Creek Metroparks in Columbiana, Ohio, Birdfish Brewing is one of the newer craft brewers in the area (their first location opened in 2015). Many of their beers are unfiltered, hazy New England style beers with plenty of flavor and punch. Birdfish Brewing has two locations in Columbiana; “Up Top” is their smaller location with 5 beers on tap and limited location. “Down Low” is their newer location that opened in the Fall of 2018. Food options are limited to a food truck parked at Down Low and local pizza delivery. Down Low is kid friendly with plenty of activities including around a dozen pinball machines and an assortment of board games.
